Teacher Cadet

Teacher Cadet I


This course is a full year study of the history, development, organization, and practices of education.  Students will engage in classroom instruction and Work Based Learning working with the preschool students at the Romulus Early Childhood Center in order to earn necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to work towards a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.


Teacher Cadet II


Students carry out year-long internships in early education classrooms. They are in these placements four days a week, and in the high school classroom for instruction on the fifth day. Students who complete Teacher Cadet I and II with a B or better can earn college credits as many colleges.

Accounting

Accounting 1 - 1 Credit - Will receive 12th grade math-related credit. 

Grades 11, 12


A study of different accounting systems, theories of accounting, and an introduction in new data processing methods. Computerized accounting is also designed to teach students the fundamentals of automated accounting and provides them with the knowledge to operate any commercial software package they may encounter in the business world. This course is recommended for all general business majors. 


Accounting 2 - 1 Credit - Will receive 12th grade math-related credit. (State Recognized)

Satisfactory completion of Accounting 1

Grades 12


This class will take the basics learned in the first-year course and apply them in such areas as: corporate accounting, management accounting, and cost accounting. The student will use automated accounting software. The student will gain hands-on experience using microcomputers to complete computer application problems. This course is recommended for all general business majors. 


Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts Program (2 Years)

 

The Romulus High School Culinary Arts Program provides students with hands-on experience

in professional cooking, baking, and food service management. Students have the opportunity

to earn their ServSafe Manager Certification through the National Restaurant Association, giving them a strong foundation for careers in the food industry. The program includes field trips to food shows, visits from guest speakers and industry professionals, and real-world catering

experiences that teach teamwork, leadership, and customer service. With a focus on both skill

development and career readiness, the program also offers job placement opportunities,

mentorship, and exposure to various culinary career paths, preparing students for success in

restaurants, hospitality, and beyond.

Health ScienceHealth Science
 

The RHS Health Science CTE program at Romulus High School is a comprehensive, two-year pathway that students can begin as sophomores. The program equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue careers in healthcare, culminating in industry-recognized certifications. By completing both years, students have the opportunity to earn credentials as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and a Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). The curriculum covers anatomy and physiology, healthcare communication, infection control and safety, legal and ethical considerations, and much more. Graduates leave the program with both an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification and an OSHA 10-Hour Healthcare Safety certificate, ready to enter the healthcare workforce immediately after high school. The RHS  program not only prepares students for careers but also instills the confidence and professional foundation needed to thrive in the healthcare industry.
